how-we-do-it

Creation of a software system is a significant investment. We’re not going to promise that it happens instantly or is effort free.

However – we have been through this many times, so we’re here to help you through it.

We are a committed & pragmatic team. We’re very good at working with business people to understand how their processes work and what they need from a software solution. Our clients value us for the highly professional and practical relationships we develop with them.

We start by working with you

We work with you to bring out the details of what you want the application to do, & understand the ‘business rules’ that are to be used. We listen to what you want, ask lots of queries, advise you on the possibilities and talk you through the implications of various options. We write down the requirements, draft a data & design model, and review everything with you until it is perfect. By this point, we’ll have a pretty good idea of how we would build the application and can tell you how much it will cost.

-We want to ensure that you have a comprehensive understanding of what you will get for the cost expended
-We can usually give a ball-park estimate after an initial meeting, but a fixed price quote can be given only after a detailed specification is developed and agreed to

The clients stay involved throughout the execution phase of the solution. We plan the overall architecture, and then build the solution module by module, focusing on one area of functionality or one set of user screens at a time.

You’ll be able to see screen mock-ups and screen shots as the solution development progresses. We’ll continue to have questions for you all along the way to work out the solution details and incorporate the feedback.

Alongside our in-house QA processes, you will be involved in the ‘user acceptance testing’ as sections of the solution approach completion.

This is where bespoke solution development is very different from installing, say, the latest Microsoft Office application

You will find bugs, and things that you would want to change – and you’ll be able to discuss & get these resolved directly with the development team (unlike the off-the-shelf experience)

And we stay with you past Go Live

We’ll help you plan this and be there for you all along the way. We provide free support for all our solutions for 3 months post go-live date.
